This local pie shop, with two locations in Washington, DC, was voted City Paper’s Best Pie in DC for the past six years. Dangerously Delicious Pies began when Rodney Henry, front man for “The Glenmont Popes,” started making his grandma’s pies and handing out slices while on tour with his band. He even traded pie for lodging while on the road. After nearly two decades, he has opened six locations and is still going strong.
They make both savory and sweet pies, as well as a wide variety of quiches, all baked from scratch, with no preservatives or additives. The pies are made by hand with love, the old fashioned way. Since all their ingredients are fresh, some pies are only available seasonally, but they are well worth the wait. From their 50 pie varieties, there is an ample daily selection of 15-25 pies so you are bound to find a new favorite with each visit.
So find the Dangerously Delicious Pies nearest you and try one of their unique menu items like the savory BBQ pork pie, vegan ratatouille pie, crab and cheddar quiche, and of course their sweet pies such as pancake batter or chocolate peanut butter. Your taste buds will thank you!
